Kate Spenceley

Kate has been the project coordinator for People First Quality checkers since January 2012. Previous to this, Kate was a Outreach Inclusion Worker and ran Speak up forums for people with learning disabilities for Cornwall People First.

Kate believes passionately in supporting people to to speak up and in promoting positive change towards a more equal and fair society for all.

People First Quality Checkers, part of Cornwall People First was established in May 2011. It operates as a social enterprise employing checkers with learning disabilities. who work across Cornwall, Plymouth and Devon. They check a large variety of services against the 7 keys to citizenship and have launch several initiatives to support full citizenship for people with learning disabilities in their area. They are part of the Citizenship for all project as well as the A.C.Q. People First Quality checkers also deliver training for people with learning disabilities, family and support workers.
